UniMAP Signs MoU With Romstar

Romstar is an oil and gas services company, which specialises in testing and commissioning of pipelines for the oil and gas industry as well as for power generation. Under the MoU, four UniMAP centres will conduct joint-research in mecathronics and material engineering with Romstar, to develop an intelligent piping system for industrial use.
KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 (Bernama) -- The Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) signed a memorandum of understanding last night with an oil and gas services company, Romstar Sdn Bhd to research and develop an intelligent piping system for industrial use.
Romstar is specialising in testing and commissioning of pipelines for the oil and gas industry and power generation.
Four UniMAP centres will be involved in the research including the mecathronics engineering and material engineering.
UniMAP vice-chancellor Brig-Gen Prof Datuk Dr Kamarudin Hussin said in his speech that the university aimed to create employment-ready graduates.
At the same event, UniMAP also feted companies which are involved in providing practical training for the university's engineering students.
Some 800 UniMAP final year students attended the inaugural event for the Klang Valley and Kuala Lumpur zones.
